About All Seasons Pest Contol

One sunny Sunday afternoon in 1993, my friend and I had to run an errand. On our way, we noticed a person, who looked familiar, walking on the side of the road. I thought the person looked like someone my friend and I knew. He did not agree. We continued to debate the identity of this person as we traveled to our destination. When we left our destination, we saw the person again. I rolled down the window and yelled the name of the person I thought it was. When the person heard me yell his name, he smiled and began waving at me. We stopped and picked up this person. This person was an old friend of both of us. Our old friend was down on his luck and needed a place to stay. So, my friend and I decided to help our old friend by allowing him to stay one week at each of our houses in hopes that doing so would help him get on his feet.

My friend agreed to take the first week, but after 2-3 days, he called me and said that I had to come and get our old friend. I picked up our old friend and took him to my house. I agreed to give him one week to find a job and find a place to live. The next day, he asked if I would like to start a pest control business. My old friend explained that he knew the business since his dad had been in the pest control business. My old friend advised that he possessed an active license to provide pest control services. I quickly declined my old friend’s offer.
The next day I was watching CNN and came across a program on the five fastest ways to a million dollars. The pest control business was number four on the list. That got my attention, and I told my old friend that I would like to start a pest control business if the offer was still good. We started a small pest control company, but my old friend quickly left the company. Consequently, I now had a company, but no license. I quickly applied for a hardship license and went to Austin, Texas to obtain the license. I was successful in obtaining my license.

On February 14, 1994, I acquired All Seasons Pest Control, its equipment, and about 350 customers. We still service many of those original customers along with many more.
It is amazing how this act of kindness changed my life. I had a heartfelt desire to help someone in need, and that one act, led me to buy All Seasons Pest Control. This experience taught me to never underestimate the effect I can have on the life of others. When we are willing to help another, we never know what we may get in return.
